The Subcontractor Desk is a trading name of The Developer Desk Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17556319. Contact: hello@thesubcontractordesk.co.uk.

Who we are

The Developer Desk Ltd, trading as The Subcontractor Desk, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office is number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER].

What we collect

When you contact us or join the pilot: your name, company, work email, phone number if you give it, and what you tell us about your firm.
When you use the software: your name, work email and password (stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in provider), your role, and a record of the changes you make, shown to your colleagues.
What your company enters: orders, main contractors and their contacts, applications, payments and compliance records.

For the information your company enters about other people (for example contacts at main contractors), your company is the controller and we act as its processor, only on its instructions and only to provide the software.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To reply to your enquiry or pilot application: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
To provide the software you subscribe to: performing our contract with your company.
To keep accounting records: our legal obligation.
To send occasional updates: only if you ticked the box asking for them. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information or your company’s data. We use these providers, each only for the service they provide:

Formspree: receives the forms on this website and passes them to our inbox.
Google (Workspace): our email.
Google (Firebase): sign-in and the database behind the software, stored in London (europe-west2).
Cloudflare: hosts and protects this website and the software.
Our payment, accounting and banking providers: to bill your subscription and take payment.

Some of these providers are based in, or may access data from, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a customer.
Your company’s data in the software: while you subscribe. After a plan or trial ends, it is read only for 90 days so you can download it, then deleted; backups are cleared within a further 35 days.
Invoices and billing records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to.
Update emails: until you ask us to stop.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable form. Email hello@thesubcontractordesk.co.uk.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and storage

This website doesn’t set tracking or advertising cookies. The software stores your sign-in and a copy of your data in your browser so it opens quickly. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit.
